티베트인 20만명이 기독교로 개종한 이유?

 

티베트인 20만명과 라마승 62명이 예수님을 따르기로 결정했습니다. 지구에서 가장 높은 지역인 티베트는 대부분 불교인으로 소수의 이슬람과 기독교인이 있었는데, 작년 주지스님중의 한명이 기독교로 개종 후 목사가 되는일이 생겼습니다.

 

그가 기독교로 개종한 이유는 2015년 4월 네팔에서 발생한 7.8의 강진으로 8천여명이 사망하였는데 이 지진의 여파로 티베트도 피해를 있었습니다.

티베트가 지진으로 힘들어할 때 기독교인들과 기독교 단체들이  구호물품을 전달해 주고 치료와 함께 깊은 위로를  해 주었던 것이 이 목사님의 마음을 움직였던 것입니다.

 

"우리가 재난에 처했을 때 불교인들이나 힌두교인, 다른 종교인을 볼 수 없었지만  기독교인들은 그리스도의 사랑을 보여 주었습니다"

 

그리스도의 사랑의 씨가 뿌려지자 이곳에서 싹이 트기 시작한 것입니다. 그리고 라마 지도자가 개종하고 라마승 62명도 그리스도를 따르기로 결심하였습니다. 그 지역에서 1년만에 약 20만명이 개종자가 생긴것으로 추정하고 있습니다.

Something wonderful in the Christian sense is happening in Tibet, a region in China considered as the highest in the world and the home of Mount Everest, earth’s highest mountain rising more than 29,009 feet above sea level. Tibetans are mostly Buddhist, but there are also some Muslims and Christians, according to sources.  

Last year, one Tibetan Buddhist priest embraced Jesus Christ and became a Christian pastor after seeing the love of Christ shown by a group of Christian workers who helped out and provided relief goods to the people of the region when a major earthquake struck the area, according to Joe Handley, president of Asian Access, a Christian organisation seeking to spread God’s Word in South Asia.
